Candida albicans has a similar morphological appearance, but forms chlamydospores, lacks internodal blastospores and is unable to ferment sucrose

CLINICAL IMPORTANCE
It is an important cause of muosal and deep-seated infection in debilitated or immunocompromised individuals. Most human infections are endogenous in origin.
